I have talked to the Software Engineering Director for Tools and he is setting up a UM boot camp for me to take.  It it I will learn what it takes to get custom UMs into Designer 5.  I will pass the information  on once I am full of knowledge.

    Hi Dave,

This is very good news. Wish I were there.
I now have a number of working UMs written in C. I am very happy with the results so far. The Hi-Tech Pro does a pretty good job and handles all of the Memory Management nicely. The code is also very compact. I will post a project when I get some free time.

In order to get the most out of modifying the XML files I used Grep to sus out as much as I could of the parameters used in the existing StdUM modules. Perhaps you could add this to your list of "Need more Info".

UMs are really a very powerful concept and should be really promoted.

    Enjoy the Boot Camp.

    Cheers Noel.
