Sensorless brushless motor on PSoC

Postby rocketmagnet » Wed Jun 06, 2012 1:54 pm

Hi,

Are we ever going to see the project files for the sensorless, brushless motor control, as seen on
PSoC Today with Dave van Ess: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c9Nj7Hj_JQs

I would love to be able to integrate this in to one of my projects. Please please Cypress,
release this project, or, better still, release it as a component.

A component would be a lot of work more to do. I had the luck to watch the motor-controll at work on the "Embedded World". I would try to write an email to Dave Van Ess (psoctoday@cypress.com) and ask him if he could arrange to give you a copy of the project.

This might be useful (even though PSOC 1) -

http://www.psocdeveloper.com/docs/appnotes/an-mode/detail/an-pointer/an2227/an-file/117.html

The webinars, psoctoday, will have their projects posted after the ap notes are written,
at least thats what I have been told.

Hi bobmarlowe,

Thanks. But why just give the project to me? This is a killer app for the PSoC3 and PSoC5. Cypress
should be making things like this public. Same goes for the projects in the other episodes of
PSoC Today.

When I was talking to Jim Davis at the "Embedded World" in Germany I was telling him the same. Jim remarked that this has to do with responsibility: when Cypress is publishing a project like this they will become responsible for the functionality which needs a lot of checking and double checking. Publishing a solution is only possible with a complete documentation and all that takes sometimes more time than "just" developing the project.

Hi Bob,

Then maybe it would be a good idea to have a place for non-Cypress developers to upload their projects.
These would not be the responsibility of Cypress. It would be an excellent resource for us all to share
our work. Plus, Dave van Ess could upload projects there with the understanding that Cypress is in no
way responsible for them.

And how the non-Cypress developers (as me) will earn their money?

Hello

I have send an email to Dave Van Ess asking for the project files but did not get any reply :(
Does anyone have the project files from the webinars?

I'm in the middle of a product design and without them I would just have to use ATMEL uC :(

Sorry for my bad english

Sakis

Yes, Dave is often very busy and it may take some time until he answers.
Robert Murphy's address is rlrm@cypress.com

Go to Cypress.com -> Support & Community -> Technical Support -> Create a MyCase. Some registration will be needed.
