USBUART example does not work.

Postby bar86 » Wed Oct 30, 2013 2:22 pm

Hi,

I've built the USBUART example on Creator 3 with - 38 PSOC5 LP chip on a self designed PCB.
The board contains XTAL, set all clocks as required, installed driver and still can't communicate with HyperTerm.
When I set breakpoints I see that the DTE_rate is zero and no com is detected.
On the other hand when I disable and enable the COM port, the status change is detected.

BTW, I've built the HID mouse demo project and it works fine - meaning my hardware seems OK.
Any idea will be appreciated..

5 mins later found the answer - replace the USBUART driver to one that comes with the Creator installation at:

C:\Program Files\Cypress\PSoC Creator\3.0\PSoC Creator\examples\sampleprojects\SAR_SPIM_USB\SAR_SPIM_USB.cydsn\SAR_SPIM_USB.inf

Works great - 1Mbps through-output. I suggest testing on a different USB ports on the same PC - not all ports are made the same...
