PSoC Programmer COM-object failed to start!

Questions about programming (not codeing) PSoCs and Encore II as well as freeware programming hardware and software are discussed here. This is also the place to talk about production programming. Programming means loading a HEX file in to the Flash, not, writing your program.

Postby szhzj23 » Fri Aug 14, 2009 6:32 pm

I have installed Psoc programmer 3.06.0.135, but when i open the Psoc programmer from startup, there is an error windows, words list as:
PSoC Programmer COM-object failed to start!
Either the COM-object is not registerd or it could not be found on the local machine.
The Programmer will now quit!
Try to reinstall this software.

I'm using USB miniProg connect the board and computer. please help me with this error.
thanks.

I was just about to start evaluating the PSoC devices, but I am also having the same problem and cannot even install the development software.

Does anyone have a solution?
Cheers

I too had this issue. Reinstalling did not seem to fix it.

Frustrated, I unintalled the programmer and PSoC Creator 3. I rebooted, and made sure that the programmer was NOT connected. I unplugged the programmer from the PC. Then I installed PSoC Creator, rebooted, then installed the programmer and rebooted. Plugging the programmer in, Windows asked for drivers, I told it to go look in the PSOC Programmer directory. It found the drivers and everything finished up correctly.

When I went into PSoC programmer now, it worked fine. I don't know if it was all the rebooting or if it was making sure the device was NOT plugged in, but my setup is now working.
