French Universities Prefer PSoC
PSoC reaches French universities. An ISTASE’s student, an engineering school based in Saint-Etienne, started the first website dedicated to PSoC completely in French. "I had the opportunity to work on PSoC during an electronic project", says Fayçal Guennar, the student who came out with the PSoC website idea, "My professor Thierry Bru insisted on it because he believed in PSoC’s potentials. During the project I've noticed that PSoCs were easier to use than PICs, have special features and good potentials. But after looking for documentation over Internet I haven’t found sources in French". So, very soon psoczone.istase.com was online, a website targeted manly for students but also opened to engineers and researchers. “This website is a kind of knowledge base that we (ISTASE) want to share for free, adds Fayçal, l think that the dynamic reconfiguration, the mix of analog and digital blocks, User Modules, are really innovating features never seen on any other chips. At PSoCZone we develop all of those features by providing tutorials, courses, example projects that people can download for free. The website is in constant progress, new contents are added every week by ISTASE’s members and now also by external users. The PSoCZone community is growing quickly as well. In March, the unique visitors were 700, and 3,770 the pages viewed.
