Our direct client in Downers Grove, IL is looking for a Project Engineer, Electrical Capacitive Switches professional. This is a full time direct-hire position or a contract-hire opportunity. This position is an on-site position only; it is not open to telecommuting.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Design and test digital circuitry for capacitive switches using state-of-the-art electrical and optical components.
2. Hardware design and circuit layout, using microcontrollers and related materials
3. Responsible for designing and developing technical aspects of software and related hardware
4. Develop software for these products as well as test stations for manufacturing
5. Solve problems relating to manufacturing to customer specs
6. Serve as technical expert for customers as well as team members
7. Develop procedures, and methods for testing products or components
8. Work closely with manufacturing and marketing groups to design and transition the products
9. Supports client’s TQM program by following approved policies and procedures
10. Performs other related duties as assigned by management

EDUCATION
Required:    BSEE or Equivalent technical background and experience
Preferred:    BSEE   


WORK RELATED EXPERIENCE:
Required:    5+ years of design experience
Must have C / C++, and assembly programming experience
Hands on software development experience
Programmable logic, micro controllers and PSOC experience
Communication protocols, I2C, SPI, UART
Hardware design and circuit layout

Preferred: Industry Experience in controls, interfaces, or sensors
Product development experience
Experience with light propagation / diffusion for back lighting

SKILLS:
Required:    Excellent communication skills – works closely with manufacturing, quality, sales, program management, customers, suppliers, etc

Strong PC skills including database, spreadsheet, communications software

OTHER:    Team work skills, and proven track record of being a team player
